Colombia & Latin Cooking Adventure Tour
7days, 6 nights  |  Jan 3-11, 2016 & Jan 17-25th

Tour Includes:

  • 7 days, 6 nights accommodation in a private mountain top Villa in rural Colombia near Tabio (30 mins outside Bogota) 
  • 6 full typical Colombian breakfasts, 3 lunches including 2 typical Colombian restaurant meals on tour days, & 6 authentic Colombian dinners prepared by Chef Pam Fanjoy.  (*four lunches on tour days paid independently & 1 dinner)
  • 2 evenings of wine or cocktails and appetizers at the Villa with featured fireside discussions on Latin cuisine & culture
  • Private return transport to and from Bogota airport 
  • Exclusive week long tour with Chef Pam Fanjoy and native Colombian speaking tour guide Carmenza Angel from The Friendly Chef Adventures Inc.
  • Return transportation, admission and guided tour of the Salt Cathedral at Zipaquira, Colombia
  • Return transportation, guided tour and shopping in Raquira, a local town that manufactures authentic clay pots, chimineas, dishes and house wears
  • Shopping at local artisan, mall or garden center *optional excursion
  • 2 Private Latin cooking classes with Chef Pam  
  • Transportation and guided tour of Old Downtown Bogota with entrance to tour the Botoga Gold Museum & Botero Art Gallery 
  • Excursion to Surtifruver Fruit Market and orientation to native fruits and vegetables with Chef Pam

Day 1 (Sunday): 
Arrival and private pick up at Bogota Airport with transport to your destination at our rural mountainside property near Tabio. Based on group members’ arrival times, arrangements will be made to ensure a stop for lunch* or dinner* enroute to our destination (* at your individual expense).   

7pm                
Welcome wine and cheese reception and orientation upon arrival at your home away from
                       home for the week.  

Day 2 (Mon):
7am                Coffee, tea & fresh tropical fruit available  
8:15-9am        Breakfast served  
10am              Depart for Zipaquira’s Salt Mine Cathedral
12 noon          Lunch*
1pm-4pm       Tour of Salt Mine & shopping in the village
4pm                Depart to return to our Villa 
7-8pm             Authentic Ajiaco (Colombian Chicken Stew) dinner

Day 3 (Tuesday):
7am               Coffee, tea & fresh tropical fruit available  
8:15-9am       Breakfast served
10 am            Depart for Nobsa - a wool & textile town
12 noon        Lunch* then shopping throughout the town with our tour guide. We will explore the area
                      looking for typical cuisines and artisans native to Colombia representing traditional way
                      of life here
5pm              Return to the Villa for traditional cooking class with Chef Pam & dinner 

Day 4 (Wednesday): 
7am             Coffee, tea & fresh tropical fruit available  
8:15-9am     Breakfast served 
9:30am        Depart for Bogota
11am-4pm   Botero Museum, Bogota Gold Museum and tour of Old Bogota Downtown area
                     Lunch provided at an authentic restaurant typical of Colombian favorites 
4pm             Depart Bogota and make excursion to Surtifruver Fruit Market - orientation to native fruits
                    and vegetables with Chef Pam
6pm             Dinner* at Crepes & Waffles, Bogota
7:30pm        Return to Villa for casual evening on your own or attend the optional discussion with
                    Chef Pam on traditional Latin cooking at 9 pm by the fire

Day 5 (Thursday): 
7-9am    Coffee, tea & fresh tropical fruit available  
9-10am       Breakfast served 
1030am      Depart for Raquira, the clay pot town 
1230-6pm   Tour the town on your own or as a group with our Spanish speaking interpreter available
                   to you throughout the afternoon as you explore this unique ancient town known for the
                   production of traditional clay pots.  Lunch and dinner will both be at your leisure and own
                   expense today before leaving town.
6 pm          Depart to return to Villa. 
8pm           Cocktails & appetizers enjoyed around the fire with Chef Pam  

Day 6 (Friday)
7-9am  Coffee, tea & fresh tropical fruit available  
9-10am     Breakfast served
11am        Depart for shopping in Chia (to 2pm)
2:30-4pm Typical Colombian lunch at El Trebol Restaurant
7pm         Fondue Dinner & Movie Night (optional)

Day 7 (Saturday)
7am         Coffee, tea & fresh tropical fruit available  
8:15-9am Breakfast served
10- 2pm   Leisure morning to walk the mountain, garden, read, etc..  with self serve lunch provided to
                enjoy at your leisure today
2-5pm     Authentic BBQ Cooking Class with Chef Pam then dining together after class

Day 8 (Sunday)
7am        Coffee, tea & fresh tropical fruit available 
with continental breakfast served today  
9-11am   Depart for Bogota Airport *pending times of departure for all guests
